Any ambitious grandma can become a preschool owner

You gather the children. We handle the rest.

Where you start

In your home. In a rented room. In a garden, or under trees. This is the ordinary way a preschool begins, not the exception. A preschool is a small number of children in a safe space with an adult who knows what she is doing. Empathy School Bali runs outdoors, and the children learn in a garden rather than at desks. Start with the space you have and the number of children you can look after well, and grow from there. Rules about premises, ratios and registration differ by country and by region, and meeting them is yours to do. We will tell you what to look for.

What it costs

Setting up is free and fully supported. Payment begins when the school is running and earning, as a fee for each enrolled child.

What you keep

Your name, your brand, your choice of curriculum and your business. We are your software and your training. This is not a franchise.

This is a living, not a project

Parents pay you directly. You decide what to charge for the town you are in, because a fee that works in a Polish village is not the fee that works in a compound in Doha, and nobody in an office elsewhere should be setting it for you.

What your school earns is yours. We take a fee for each enrolled child, once children are enrolled, and that is the whole of what we take. We are not a partner in your business and we do not take a share of it.

You need no staff to begin. At the start it is you and a small number of children, which is how almost every preschool in the world has ever started.

A small school that runs properly is the point. If you have six children you pay for six children, so the arrangement costs you least at the moment you have least.

My grandmother ran a preschool like this in the small community where I grew up. She had no software, no training that anybody gave her, and nobody to ask when something went wrong. She lived on it for decades and she taught most of the children in that place. Everything here exists so that the next woman doing it does not have to work it out alone.

Do you need a teaching qualification

Rules differ by country and by region. Ask trains you to teach the curriculum, and we help you find the licensing path where you live. Meeting local rules is yours to do.

What people ask before they start

I have never run a business

Neither had most of the people who do this well. Onboarding takes you through the first term one step at a time, and you can stop and come back to the same step tomorrow.

I am not a trained teacher

Ask trains you to teach the curriculum, and the training is in your own language. Local rules about qualifications differ by country and by region, and meeting them is yours to do.

What if it stays small

A small school that runs properly is the point. You pay for each enrolled child, so a small school costs you little.
