Ask is available now for the Empathy Curriculum, used by teachers today. It is built to refuse, citing the lesson each answer rests on, storing no conversations and accepting no photographs of children.

The curriculum's central claim is that faces do not carry fixed meanings, so nobody can be told what another person feels. That constraint is built into the app. Ask a teacher's most natural question, what is this child feeling, and it declines, and hands back questions to ask the child instead. Most education AI is built to produce an answer. This one is built to withhold the answer that would be most satisfying and least true, because giving it would teach the opposite of the programme. Every answer ends with the lesson it rests on, and where the curriculum is silent it says so rather than improvising.
What is inside
Four assistants, each expert in one part of the curriculum, kept separate on purpose so their answers stay narrow and reliable. Two screens with no AI in them at all, a games corner holding the programme's games filtered by the moment a teacher is in, such as a loud class or no space, and a card shelf holding the wordless deck. A teacher sets her level, her term and her week once, and after that the home screen shows this week's lesson, words and game without her typing anything. A parent at a licensed school gets her own mode in Ask. She can ask about the curriculum herself, in her own language, at any hour. Parent mode reaches no lesson content and nothing that resembles measuring her child, and it never tells anybody what her child is feeling.
Safety
Photographs cannot be uploaded and there is no path by which an image of a child reaches the system. Conversations are not stored, only how often the app is used. It will not label or diagnose a child and it will not help design a punishment. Anything resembling a safeguarding disclosure stops the conversation and points to the centre's own child protection process. Families of children at a licensed school get their own mode, which cannot reach lesson content or anything resembling measurement of their child.
