Practise asking, describing and waiting
Rehearse a small teaching move before using it in class.
Before you begin
Use a teacher account with the curriculum and class context available. The practice room uses a fictional child.
Step by step
- Choose Practice room from the sidebar, Practice on a phone, or Rehearse it on This week.
- On your first visit, read the introduction and choose Begin. On later visits, use Start a session; How the room works reopens the explanation.
- Choose an age, then a card or Let the app choose. Selecting the card starts the session. Read the fictional name; use Different name if it matches a real child you know.
- Practise a short conversation. Describe what you notice, ask one question, wait, and offer a word as a question after the child has had a chance.
- Finish the session and read the teaching moves and learning points shown. Use these to reflect on your words, not to assess a real child.
- Use Your past sessions when a completed session is available. Open a record or use its deletion controls if needed.
Check the result
You have rehearsed a small teaching move before trying it in class.
A useful check
Practice history is saved on this device. It is separate from ordinary guide chat.
If the result is different, check the account and school first, then contact the team with the task and error wording.
